Neuroscience

Energy follows attention. If individuals within your organization aren't focusing their attention on their jobs, then their energy isn't going where it needs to be. Neuroscience techniques help individuals and organizations explore new options and focus and channel their attention on the task at hand most effectively. Both individuals and organizations can become "hard-wired" into unproductive patterns or pathways. Neuroscience techniques help individuals and organizations overcome fear and reluctance to try the new pathways and confront the challenges that are holding them back from making productive change.

Think of a rotary where there are a number of turning-offs. One street goes to work, one to a favorite restaurant, and one to your home—these turn-offs or pathways are "hard-wired" in your brain — you're comfortable taking them, they're second nature. But they only represent a fraction of the possibilities open to you. There are other turn-offs you might never have taken before. Maybe they aren't even streets. One might be a field, or a pond, or a dirt path. They're unknown and may seem dangerous, and intimidating. Yet, they might be the very pathway to get you to your goal. Neuroscience will help you internalize the value of these paths and provide a means to help you take them. By practicing neuroscience techniques you'll begin going down the dirt path, taking a boat across the pond… once you start practicing these paths also become hard-wired, so now you can explore all your options fearlessly, rather than operating at 50% capacity.

At Oliverworks, we'll help you determine where hard-wiring is working for your organization and where it's holding you back. Sometimes the problems lie with individuals or groups and sometimes it's the organization as a whole. Once we determine where your needs are, we'll develop processes to enable your company to explore and employ all of its best options effectively.
